Resurrection Sunday in Chicago |
We enjoyed celebrating the resurrection at the home of one of Nathan's colleagues |
Hanging up Ashlyn's bird feeder |
Playing in the tree fort |
Very excited about a zipline in the backyard! |
Ready to ride! |
Ashlyn prefers to jump |
But she got brave and went for a ride too |
Ashlyn's favorite thing to do is swing! Really high! |
We were studying the weather and tried our hand at a few weather instruments. Here's our homemade anemometer.
After moving to Chicago both kids were able to plug right back into Awana. Here is Ashlyn's Cubbies awards ceremony. She wasn't too excited about being up in front of all those people.
Enjoying a little cake with her friend afterward |
She was very excited to see Cubbie Bear! |
So when we moved to Chicago, someone joked with Nathan about having a stipend for designer jeans. It seems that everyone around Harvest dresses pretty trendy. And everyone who knows us well knows what trendy dressers we are? Right? Not!! Well one of Nathan's colleagues decided that Nathan needed a little help in this department. So when we had them over for dinner one night, he came bearing gifts - a trendy new outfit for Nathan to fit right in.
We were thrilled to have some old Army friends find their way up to Chicago for a few days. It was a sweet time of fellowship and wonderful to catch up on the years since we last saw them!
Micah enjoyed having Corey play a few rounds of cards with him.
He also had fun chasing the ducks in our back yard
Gloria and Barbara |
With the weather warming up it was finally time to buy a lawn mower. The kids were fascinated and followed Nathan around while he mowed the lawn.
Happy girl! |
Ready for Sparks awards night |
Micah with some of his teammates |
Receiving his 3rd book award |
Way to go Micah! |
This was Micah's 3rd year in Sparks and were were thankful to find our new church had an Awana program so he could finish what he had begun. With a big break in the middle of the year, due to our move, he had to work pretty hard to finish up his book this year, but I was so proud of his diligent study to work hard toward that end. We are thankful for the many volunteers who work to make this program happen. It's an awesome way to memorize Scripture and help the kids hide God's Word in their hearts!
