Our church had a potluck lunch after the services and had several bounce houses/slides available for the kids. It was a hot day, but the kids still had a blast!
Ashlyn didn't partake in the sliding, but she had fun watching everyone else.
This year we decided to celebrate the Jewish festival of Purim, remembering God's salvation of the Jewish people in the book of Esther. To get ready for the Purim party Micah helped make a special treat called Hamentashen.
We had the party at the Sedy's house. As part of the modern day celebration of Purim, children dress up in costume for the party. The kids made masks and special noisemakers called groggers.

After making their masks and groggers, we read through the story of Esther. The kids job was to listen carefully for Haman's name so they could boo and shake their groggers anytime his named was mentioned in the story.
After the story, they enjoyed trying out the Hamentashen
Micah loved this marble toy he found at their house.
Lunch time ~ the kids kept their costumes on the whole time. It's so much fun to dress up!
So proud of the finished product!
Ashlyn even dressed up for the party ~ she is Queen Esther.
Micah and Daddy had fun coloring Easter eggs
This year we decided to enjoy our Easter activities on the first day of Spring, in an effort to be focus on the resurrection of Christ on Easter Sunday. So the kids woke up to find their Easter baskets and also enjoyed hunting for eggs.
Once Ashlyn realized there was yummy Yogurt Melts in her eggs, she was quick to look for more.
So proud of the finished product!
