Poppy Reserve

On Sunday we traveled north to visit the Poppy Reserve while it is still in bloom. It was a beautiful! And the weather was perfect. Although it was windy on the reserve, the bright shining sun kept us all warm.
Trudy, Micah and Josiah

We took about a 1 1/2 mile hike around one of the trails

And we were reminded early on to keep on the lookout for snakes, when this little guy crossed the trail in front of us. Yikes! I'm glad we noticed him!

Micah had such a good time having Trudy here to visit for the weekend. We're wishing she still lived in CA near us. We miss you already Trudy!

Josiah joined us on Sunday while his parents are away for a few days. The three kids all had so much fun together, although at times I think Trudy thought the boys were a bit wild and crazy!!

The kids had a ball running ahead on the trail...

and then stopping to take a rest before getting up to run again.

What a beautiful display of God's creative power!

"O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is Thy name in all the earth,
Who has displayed Thy splendor above the heavens!"

Trudy's Here!

We are so excited to have Micah's friend Trudy here visiting for the weekend! It's been over two years since they last saw each other, but they've been having a grand time getting reacquainted with each other. Here's some of the things they did today...

Trudy and Micah made some rockets (one of Micah's science experiments). We used alka-seltzer and warm water as the gas - so they did launch, but only a few inches off the ground.

Friends

They made cookies together in the easy bake oven ~ here they are enjoying the fruit of their labor!

Game time ~ Micah wanted to teach Trudy to play Life

Dinner time ~ Trudy loves tacos, so that's what was on the menu for tonight

And of course we have to have crazy faces too!

Here's Ashlyn, having fun with Trudy too!

Here's Ashlyn's crazy face!

Trudy has a blast learning to ride Micah's bike ~ without training wheels!

Go Trudy!!

Ashlyn had fun throwing the frisbee around with Trudy.

Enjoying "Daddy shakes" as a special evening treat

Cuddling with all the animals while singing in worship together.

What a fun day we had! We look forward to more fun tomorrow!

Resurrection Sunday

Resurrection Sunday was a busy day so we didn't get too many pictures. Here's one of Micah and Ashlyn outside at church...

Tea Party with Auntie Vonna

Auntie Vonna was out of town for Ashlyn's birthday so we decided to celebrate with a little tea party after she came back. Ashlyn loves tea parties, and this one was special because she got to use real tea cups!
Lovin' her tea ~ this is the teacup Auntie Vonna gave her last year

This is so much fun!

She was all dressed up in her princess dress for the occasion

Our Baby's 2nd Birthday

It's so hard to believe that my little baby girl is already two years old! And all of a sudden she seems to have grown up so much. I miss the baby, but it's a lot of fun to see her little personality develop and interact with us more and more each day. She is quite the funny little girl, loves to joke around, and we love her many faces . I think she is going to have a great sense of humor. She loves her dolls and most recently is very into bags and purses. She can't go anywhere without bringing her backpack along. It's so cute! Here's a few pictures of our birthday celebration with her...

Good Morning Birthday Girl!

Ashlyn got to open 1 present on her birthday. For the others she had to wait until her party.

Now she has her own little kitchen!

Celebrating with breakfast birthday cake. Blowing out the candles is her favorite part.

It was a busy day so we didn't get much celebrating in. Here's Ashlyn at the church waiting for the Awana Grand Prix to begin.

Micah was very excited to participate in the race.

He won in the first round and moved on to the next round. But was disappointed when he didn't advance after that. He did a great job though!

Here he is with his car on the track.

Night Night Ashlyn

Opening presents at her birthday party. Since we had been at a party just a few days earlier, she knew what it was all about. All I had to do was say presents and she came running!

She is very into ladybugs right now, so we decided to give her a ladybug party. She loves to say and sign "ladybug". And we also got to celebrate Aunt Bonnie's birthday as they share a birthday.

Ashlyn's favorite part is blowing out the candles.

But eating the cake isn't so bad either

Josh and Ashlyn ~ the beautiful dress she has on is from Aunt Bonnie. She looks like a princess in it and loves to see it spin out when she twirls around. She also loved the chapstick she got from Nana... that's what she is holding in her hand.

After presents and cake we headed out to the park

Josiah and Josh

She loves going down the slide on her belly

And she now thinks she is big enough to climb all the toys at the playground.

Micah and Josian tired themselves out pulling each other around in the wagon.

We had a fun day of celebration!
