February Highlights

Now that she is crawling, Ashlyn seems to be changing so much every day as she learns new things and discovers the world around her. We are having so much fun with our little princess. And it has been fun to see her and Micah really enjoy playing together now. He is such a great big brother! Here's what we were up to in the month of February...

Ashlyn moved up in the nursery at church. She is now in the crawlers room.

The kids found Daddy's old dog tags. It's amazing how that little tag and chain can provide so much entertainment!

Micah pretended to be an Army man, carrying the dog tags everywhere he went.

We enjoyed a night out at Phantom of the Opera, followed by a stop at Diddy Riese, our favorite Westwood ice cream shop.

For Valentines Day, Micah had fun making sugar cookies and decorating them. He likes LOTS of sprinkles on his cookies.

Daddy bought some fun craft supplies. Micah enjoyed the new Bronco glasses that Daddy made him.

Ashlyn continues to LOVE the bath! She comes crawling quickly anytime she hears someone in the bathroom. She doesn't want to miss a chance to get in that fun water. Whenever she gets in the bath she grabs this cup and won't let go of it til after she gets out.

Happy baby! Ashlyn loves the freedom of crawling all over the house!

She liked the "hair" on Micah's Bronco helmet

Micah always enjoys lovin' on his sister!

Ashlyn crawled under a chair one day and sat there eating her cheerios

We were sick for 2 weeks this month so we tried to get creative with our playtime. Using a Costco box and Trader Joe's bags, Micah made this rocketship all by himself.

Ashlyn also enjoys playing in the fridge. When the door opens she always manages to wriggle her way up to it before I can close the door.

She likes to hold her own bottle now.

11 Months Old!
Our little girl is getting big!

Having fun with the pom-pom.

Micah and Daddy took a hike up in the foothills around our house.

They had a great time together!

They could see the whole city from up there.

It was a steep climb, but Micah proved to be a great hiker!

Playing with one of her favorite toys ~ the phone

I walked in to get Ashlyn after her nap one day and found her like this, standing up in her crib. She was quite proud of her accomplishment! I quickly lowered the mattress though so she won't topple out of bed.

A Sunny Day at the Park

We took advantage of some nice weather outside and went to go play at the park. The kids loved the opportunity to play in the sunshine.

Ashlyn loved the swing and the wind blowing in her face
Micah is doing a great job of swinging on his own!

It was fun to see Ashlyn explore the playground now that she can get around on her own

Spiderman Micah ~ he loves the climbing wall

Peek-a-boo

And of course, we always love to play in the sand!

This was the first time I've let Ashlyn play in the sand and she was in heaven! She was also filthy by the time we got home!!

Faith Kids in February

February was a fun month in Faith Kids. We had all kinds of new activities going on. Here's a little recap of what we did...

For the letter "P" we had pajama day

All the kids got to wear their pajamas to school.

We also had a special guest visit us ~ a Policeman. Andrew was excited to introduce his Daddy to all the kids.

Officer Kim told them all about the things Policemen do to keep us safe, including handcuffing the bad people!

Micah was eager to participate in this class discussion

They even got to see Officer Kim's patrol car

And away he goes...

"This is officer Micah Scroggins. Please pull over to the right and put your hands on the steering wheel."

Officer Kim and Micah

We also celebrated Valentines Day at Faith Kids. Here's Micah passing out his special valentines.

Micah loves any crafts that include glue!

Check this out!

A Valentine Lollipop ~ Yummy!

Our field trip this month was to Cassell's Music store. They got to see all sorts of instruments in the 4 different musical families. But the best part was that they got to try them out!

First Micah played the autoharp

He also got to try out the violin.
But his favorite instrument by far was the drums!!! The only reason we got the drumsticks away from him was because he accidentally dropped one. He loves the drums!!!

Dad's Day at Faith Kids

Micah was very excited to have Daddy join him for a special Dad's Day at Faith Kids. He got to show Daddy all the things he does every week, and introduce him to all of his friends. Here's a few pictures from the day...

Daddy wore his special t-shirt that Micah made him for Christmas

Micah got to lead the Pledge of Allegiance

One of their crafts was making a paper airplane. After they finished they went outside to have a contest to see whose plane would fly the farthest. Here's the Dads trying it out...

And here go the kids.

Micah had fun just throwing his plane all around

Micah and Andrew having their own little contest

Silly times with Daddy!

Edwards AFB

We had the privilege of going up to Edwards Air Force Base for a private tour. One of the students in the MABC program is a pilot up there, so he was able to get a group of us on base to show us around. While we were there, Micah got to fly in an F-16 simulator, which he thoroughly enjoyed, even after he crash landed it. We also got to see a plane land while we were up in the air traffic control tower. Sadly, we weren't allowed to take pictures of the simulator or the control tower, but we did get pictures at the museum with all the planes. Thanks Nate and Aurelia for a wonderful day!

Micah had fun running around checking out all the planes

He enjoyed hanging out with his buddy Grant too

The boys enjoyed getting to know some new friends, Tobin and Arden

All the boys with Lt. Col. Smith

This was the whole group who spent the day together
